BARBARA LUNT DOW TYSON

DOVER-FOXCROFT and MELBOURNE, Fla. – Barbara E. Lunt Dow Tyson, 83, passed away peacefully June 5, 2011, surrounded by her loving family at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 3, 1928, in Dover-Foxcroft. She lived in Melbourne, Fla., until 1999 at which time she returned to the place of her birth. She was the daughter of Harold C. Lunt and Martha E. Bragg.

Barbara was a loving mother, wife, sister and grandmother. She was active with friends and family up until just a week before her death. She kept her mind sharp by doing crossword puzzles, playing cards with friends, and playing the online game "Ultima Online." Her long life was filled with all the wonderful memories she made with family and friends. Those of us that loved her will forever miss her, but find comfort that she is with loved ones that have passed before her. We rejoice in the warm and beautiful life she lived.

She is survived by son, Andrew M. Dow and his wife, Diana Dow; daughter, Marcia E. Sullivan and her husband, Mark A. Sullivan; son, Scott H. Dow; stepdaughter, Merry Lynn Hays; stepdaughter, Kim Tyson Orbeck and her husband, Anthony J. Orbeck; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Charlene French and her husband, John French; and brother, Leroy "Sonny" Lunt and his wife, Sandy Lunt. She was predeceased by her son, James C. Dow at age 6; her first husband, Gerald A. Dow; and her second husband, Lemuel "Tom" Tyson.

A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at Corinth United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Proctor officiating.
