BRENTWOOD, N.H. — A man charged with killing the mother of his child as their son watched will spend at least 40 years in prison.
Jackson Mwangi pleaded guilty on Monday to second-degree murder in the June death of 25-year-old Randi Huntley of Danville.
WMUR-TV reports that he was sentenced to 40 years to life in prison.
Police said Mwangi was upset that Huntley and their 4-year-old son had left him. According to testimony, police said Mwangi showed up at her Danville home with zip ties, a hunting knife and a BB gun. Investigators said he beat, stabbed and ran over her, all before their son.
Huntley’s mother and two sisters spoke at Monday’s hearing, with Huntley’s mother saying she could never forgive him for what he had done to her family and especially to Randi’s son.
