Kitten reported stolen from Bangor Humane Society


Bangor police Officer Jamie Fanning responded to a report of a stolen kitten at the Bangor Humane Society on Mount Hope Avenue on Friday.

The kitten, described by police as a black, long-haired, domestic male about 8 weeks old, was reportedly taken from the shelter under the sweatshirt of one of four male suspects who were seen looking at kittens. Police describe the suspect as wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a white hat with a sticker on the rim and black pants. One friend was wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts and yellow sneakers, another wore a black shirt and dark-colored jeans and a third reportedly wore a dark-colored shirt and jeans. Bangor Humane Society expects to release video surveillance footage.

Anyone with information on the suspects or location of the kitten are asked to call police at 947-7382 and ask for either Officer Fanning or Officer Brian Smith. Those wishing to remain anonymous may press ext. 6 to leave a message on the tip line.
