DAMARISCOTTA, Maine — Hop on board Darcy’s Country Coach at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, June 16, at Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center, 521 Main St. for a greenhouse and independent nursery and plant center adventure along the Route One Corridor in Mid-Coast Maine.
The cost is $20 for a day of fun, exploration and gardening conversations. Advance registration and payment deadline is Monday, June 13. A minimum of 20 participants will be needed to make the event happen. Call 563-1363 to register. On the day of the tour greenhouse visitors will be given a coupon from “Black Dirt Man” Joe Marsh entitling them to a $15 discount on a load of compost or black dirt ordered and delivered by June 24.

After departure, the air-conditioned motor coach will travel up the coast to Burnham’s Bloomers in Waldoboro, where Dianne will greet greenhouse and gardening enthusiasts for a before hours guided tour and shopping spree. Travelers from the Waldoboro area can join the tour at Burnham’s at 8:45 a.m.
The tour will depart for Hoboken Gardens in Rockport at 9:30 a.m.
By 11 a.m. the tour will arrive at Plants Unlimited in Rockport, where horticulturalist and garden center founder Hammond Buck will offer a special shopper’s coupon.
Moose Crossing Garden Center in Waldoboro will round out the day’s planned greenhouse and nursery visits.
If time permits, brief visits also will be made at the Green Thumb in West Rockport and Barley Joe Farm Greenhouse in Warren.
