BANGOR — Downtown Bangor Partnership has announced the sixth annual Cool Sounds Free Concert and Outdoor Market Series, expanded to 10 weeks this summer.

The concert series will kick off with Rockin’ Ron & The New Society Band 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 9, in Pickering Square.

“Rockin’ Ron” Cunningham began entertaining friends and family at a young age with his unique guitar style and vocal abilities. The New Society Band features full three‐part harmony vocals and a variety of song material. With surf, doo‐wop and rockabilly at the heart of his repertoire, Cunningham also sprinkles in classic country favorites and a few of the current Top 10 country dance tunes.

The New Society Band comprises Cunningham on lead guitar and vocals; Steve Sinclair on drums and tenor vocals; and Jeff Budge, formerly of Bluegrass Supply Company and Allison Ames & The Flames, on bass guitar and baritone vocals.

Cool Sounds concerts take place rain or shine, so attendees are encouraged to dress for the weather. In the event of heavy rain, concerts will move under the Pickering Square garage, and market participation will be at the discretion of the vendor.
