Bangor man arrested after police find pills during bail search

BANGOR, Maine — City police arrested a local man Friday morning after they reportedly turned up a cache of prescription pills during a bail search at his home.

Charged with violating the conditions of his release from a prior arrest and possession of scheduled drugs was Joseph Walton, 31, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said.

According to the arrest report, Officers Tim Shaw and Steve Pelletier found 11 pills for which Walton did not have a prescription in Walton’s bedroom, where he told the officers they would find them, Edwards said. He said the pills included Xanax and Klonopin.

Walton, who was taken to Penobscot County Jail after his arrest, since has been released on bail.
