BANGOR, Maine — A Levant woman is facing a charge of threatening with a dangerous weapon after she allegedly tried to run over her ex-boyfriend with her vehicle Sunday evening.

Summoned but not arrested was 28-year-old Amy Durant, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Monday, citing police reports.

Edwards said the episode that led to the charge occurred about 7:30 p.m. on Finson Road when Durant reportedly went after her boyfriend, whose name is being withheld, with her vehicle.

“She had gone after him a couple of times,” Edwards said, citing a police report. “He had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit.”

Bangor police Officers Chad Foley and Chris Blanchard charged Durant after interviewing the former boyfriend and several witnesses, Edwards said.

Edwards said police reports did not indicate what prompted the incident.
