WHITING – Mary L. Fletcher, 77, died Sunday, May 29, 2011, at her residence. She was born Oct. 24, 1933, in Cutler, daughter of the late Anthony M. and Ina L. (Ackley) Look.

Mary graduated from Washington Academy, Class of 1951. She worked for AM Look Canning Co., Sullivan Lumber and for Dead River as a bookkeeper. She owned and operated the Machias branch of H & R Block for several years. She was a member of Jacksonville Methodist Church. Mary loved lake fishing, spending time on Gardner Lake and yard sales, but most of all she enjoyed being with her family.

She is survived by her husband, James "Jimmy" Fletcher of Whiting; one daughter, Penny Peabody and her husband, Milford "Fred" Peabody, of Whiting; and one sister, Lillian Dwelley and husband, Aubrey, of East Machias.
