LILLIAN ‘LIL’ ROSALIE WORMELL

BANGOR – Lillian "Lil" Rosalie Wormell, 82, died peacefully June 2, 2011, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Sept. 20, 1928, in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, daughter of Newell and Lillian (Libby) Wormell. After the death of her parents she was adopted at an early age by Percy and Mildred Libby of Bangor.

A graduate of Bangor High School, she was employed by the evening and Sunday newspaper, the Bangor Commercial. Lil was a traffic manager for WABI Radio and the first female deejay in Maine hosting daily the "Lil Wormell Show." For many years she served as business manager and an account executive for Bronson Communications. In her later years, she was employed by Darlings Ford, VW, and Audi. Lil was a member of Bangor Road Club and Altrusa International.

Lil was predeceased by her parents, adopted parents, five brothers and one sister. She is survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Services will be private for the family. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
