AUGUSTA, Maine — The Maine Medical Examiner’s office says a 23-year-old man killed in Farmington was shot in the abdomen.

The Tuesday death of Andrew Holland of Cape Elizabeth has been ruled a homicide.

Another man, 23-year-old Ryan Ouimet, of Coltsneck, N.J., has been charged with manslaughter.

Ouimet was released from jail on bail on Wednesday. He’s due in court next Wednesday.

Police say Holland was shot with his friend’s handgun in an apartment near the University of Maine at Farmington.

Both men graduated from Farmington last month.

The Morning Sentinel of Waterville says tests could take more than a month.
