BANGOR – Christopher Paul Connor, 49, passed away peacefully in his sleep May 30, 2011, at home after a brief illness. He was born Jan. 12, 1962, in Webster, Mass., son of Paul Coney and Barbara Anne (Chalmers) Connor.
Chris was a graduate of John Bapst High School where he was president of his class and a member of the football and boxing teams. He also attended Husson College, now Husson University. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics and the Washington Redskins. Chris was very proud of his Irish heritage and often seen wearing his green hat, blazer and white bucks.
Surviving are his sister, Cynthia Connor Freeman, who loved him very much and her husband, John, and her children, Mindy, Tyler and Keira; uncles, Ronald “Bud” Chalmers of Bangor, James H. Chalmers and his wife, Shirley, of Brewer, and Richard L. Connor; two aunts, Sandra Nason and Tina Campbell; several cousins; nephews, Jordan and Connor; and many lifelong friends. Chris was predeceased by his parents; brother, Sean; paternal grandparents, Alice and Hugh Connor; uncle, Hugh G. Connor; beloved and adored maternal grandparents, “Nana” Gertrude Chalmers and “Dee Dee” John B. Chalmers, who cared so much for all of the family, especially Chris.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 6, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Mick, senior pastor of Bangor Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the family lot at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversion and refreshments after the services Tuesday at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
