Songwriters to perform at Library Coffeehouse

CAMDEN, Maine — The songwriters of Camden Public Library’s Songwriter Sessions will perform their new works at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 2, at the Library Coffeehouse. Admission is free, though donations will be appreciated. For more information call 236-3440.

Talent show on tap for The Strand

ROCKLAND, Maine — The Strand is hosting a fundraiser, “Midcoast Maine Has Talent … or Not,” which will have locals take the stage and perform. The show, which will benefit Rockland Maine Street Inc., will be held 6-9 p.m. June 9, at The Strand on Main Street. Tour shows off Rockland Public Library, historical society’s moving parts

ROCKLAND, Maine — Rockland Public Library and Rockland Historical Society will have a tour at 10 a.m. June 13 featuring the history, art and architecture of the library. Rockland Public Library is one of the busiest in the state, ranking in the top 10 in library visits, program attendance, Internet use and interlibrary loans. The Apprenticeshop to offer free sailing and rowing

ROCKLAND, Maine — The Apprenticeshop opens its doors and shores to invite the public for an evening of free sailing and rowing on Rockland Harbor 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 9.

Visitors will try a variety of boats. No experience is necessary.

The free night also includes tours of the school, a campfire on the beach and more.

The Apprenticeshop, a school for traditional boat building and seamanship, is located at 643 Main St. in Rockland and offers a variety of courses for adults and children in boat building and sailing. For more information visit

New class to focus on slip casting

ROCKLAND, Maine — A new class is being offered 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesdays, June 8-Aug. 10, at Lincoln Street Center by studio member and instructor Austin Smith in the center’s own pottery studio. Camden Public Library to hold ‘Shakespeare’ performance

CAMDEN, Maine — One man will play 12 characters in 25 monologues 2-3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, at Camden Public Library. “The Lunatic, the Lover, and the Poet: Shakespeare’s Greatest Hits,” will be offered as part of Quarry Hill’s Adventures in Living Well series for adults age 55-plus.
