Bucksport Chamber to offer Business After Hours

PROSPECT, Maine — The Bucksport Bay Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, at the Fort Knox Visitor Center in Prospect.

Author Stuart Woods to speak in Bar Harbor

BAR HARBOR, Maine — New York Times best-selling author Stuart Woods will give a book talk and signing at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 25,  at the Jesup Memorial Library.

Woods is the winner of the Edgar Allan Poe Prize from the Mystery Writers of America for “Chiefs” and “Palindrome.” For information, call Ruth Eveland at 288-4245.

George Stevens Academy banquet, awards planned

BLUE HILL, Maine — The George Stevens Academy annual alumni banquet and scholarship awards ceremony will begin with dinner at 6 p.m. Friday, June 10, at the academy.

Dinner costs $10 per person, and alumni dues are $10. Checks for both should be made out to GSA Alumni Association and mailed to Suzette Davis, P.O. Box 47, Surry 04684.

Washington Fire Department dinner, auction to be held

WASHINGTON, Maine — The 20th annual dinner and auction will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at the Washington Fire Department, 42 Old Union Road.

Dinner is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. with the auction starting at 6 p.m. The price for the evening is $8 for adults, $4 for children.

The event is sponsored by the  Washington Fire Department Auxilliary.
