Narraguagus High School announces honor parts

HARRINGTON, Maine — Principal John Sawyer of Narraguagus High School has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2011. Graduation exercises will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, June 10, in Charles F. Lawrence Gymnasium.

Claire Albee, daughter of Daniel and Cynthia Albee of Columbia Falls, has been named valedictorian.She plans to attend Colby College to study biology.

Albee is a student mentor as well as class president, National Honor Society president, and FCCLA state president. She is a member of the math league, varsity club, drama club, and Anatomy of Leadership.

She has received the Golden Apple Award, Academic Pin, Maine Principal’s Award, Carnegie Mellon Science & Math Summer Program Siemen’s Fellow Award, and numerous individual class awards. She has completed various service activities throughout the community.

Maria Fedina, daughter of James and Valentina Kinane of Deblois, has been named salutatorian. She plans to attend Beal College to study medical assisting-transcription.

Fedina is a National Merit Finalist as well as a member of the French club, math league, and Girls’ Point of View book club. She has received the Golden Apple Award, Academic Pin, Foreign Language Association of Maine Educators Award, and numerous individual class awards. She has volunteered over the years at the Cherryfield Public Library, the town of Deblois, and laying wreaths on veterans’ graves in the community.
