MILLINOCKET, Maine — A Chicago woman was rescued after the raft she was riding in flipped over Saturday morning on the Penobscot River, a Maine Warden Service spokeswoman said Sunday.

Melissa Cheng, 31, was in an eight-person raft heading down the river’s west branch at about 10 a.m. when the raft overturned and she was rescued. She complained of minor neck and back pain and was taken to Millinocket Regional Hospital.

A nursing supervisor at the hospital said she had no information on Cheng or her condition.

No other injuries were reported.
