INDIAN TOWNSHIP, Maine — The cause of a mobile home fire at Indian Township on Tuesday afternoon may never be known due to the intensity of the blaze.

Indian Township Fire Chief Roger Brown said Wednesday that the unoccupied mobile home on Rose Lane was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived shortly after noon on Tuesday. “The front end was fully involved,” he said. “There was no danger to anyone because it was not occupied.”

Brown said he is unsure how the fire started and that there was likely too much damage done to the home to make a determination. He said the fire was not suspicious, however.

Firefighters from four towns — Indian Township, Princeton, Topsfield and Baileyville — responded to the fire, which was near the Waite town line.
