‘Drive for the Kids’ to benefit Vine Street School

BANGOR, Maine — A “Drive for the Kids” fundraiser in support of Vine Street School will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 3, at the school. Representatives from Chrysler and Quirk Chrysler will join with parents and teachers during Vine Street School’s Spring Carnival. Parents and guests can earn a $10 contribution for the school from Chrysler by taking a brief test drive in the company’s minivan. Since 1993, Chrysler has contributed more than $3.5 million to local schools.

Part of Stetson Road to be closed June 1-Sept. 15

KENDUSKEAG, Maine — The Stetson Road will be closed at the intersection with Route 15 (Broadway) in the town of Kenduskeag from June 1 through Sept. 15 for a bridge replacement project. All travelers are advised to use the posted detour route.

Chocolate Festival coming to Bangor on June 18

BANGOR, Maine — The second annual Chocolate Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Saturday, June 18, at the First Baptist Church, 56 Center St. Cakes, cookies, candies, bars and much more will be available for sale. For more information, call 945-9694.
