Waldo Humane Society to hold free rabies vaccine clinic


MONROE, Maine — A free rabies vaccine clinic, sponsored by Waldo County Humane Society, will be held from 9  to 11 a.m. at the Monroe Fire Station, 8 Swan Lake Ave. The rabies shot will be free to animals residing in Waldo County. Pets from other counties may receive a shot for a small fee. Donations will be accepted. Animals should be on leashes or in pet carriers.

Donations of cat or dog food or money may be made to Miss Millie’s Cupboard in Frankfort for domestic companion animals.

Trees, benches to be dedicated at Belfast cemetery

BELFAST, Maine — A dedication of memorial trees and benches will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 28, at Grove Cemetery, 21 Belmont Ave. in Belfast. The public is encouraged to attend and view the new changes to the landscape around the cemetery.
