Tim Sample to perform in Ashland


ASHLAND, Maine — The Ashland Rotary Club hosts Maine humorist Tim Sample, who will showcase his trademark Down East humor and storytelling in a benefit concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at Ashland District High School Auditorium. Essay contest open to female high school juniors, seniors

AUGUSTA, Maine — The National Foundation for Women Legislators and the NRA are co-sponsoring their 14th annual Bill of Rights Essay Contest for college-bound female high school juniors and seniors. “The Impact of the First Amendment on Women Leaders and Social Media” is this year’s essay topic. Winners receive a $3,000 scholarship and all-expense-paid trip to the NFWL’s Annual Conference August 11-15. The deadline for submissions is June 3, 2011.
