Teacher training seminar offered in Brunswick


BRUNSWICK, Maine — Maine Prep will offer a concentrated four-day teacher training seminar this summer from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, July 11 – 14, at the Maine Prep offices, 22 Parkers Way in Brunswick.

The eighteen-hour course, which meets from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m each day, will prepare high school teachers to teach the Maine Prep SAT Prep curriculum to their students. The curriculum consists of real SATs and Maine Prep TEN FOR TEN curricular materials. The course will be limited to 9 training teachers.

Deadline for small business grants June 1

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Small Business Marketing Grants offered by Women, Work and Community for Aroostook County Businesses deadline for mini-grant applications is June 1 with grants being awarded by June 30. Mini-grants of up to $400 will be available to help Aroostook County entrepreneurs promote their businesses through targeted marketing projects. Saturday luncheon to benefit Caribou Historical Society

CARIBOU, Maine — The Caribou Historical Society, teaming with the County Federal Credit Union and John T. Noble Company, are hosting the second annual Red Hats and Friends Luncheon at noon, Saturday, May 21, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall on Van Buren Road.
