LUBEC, Maine — In a joint operation of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Coast Guard, a local man was arrested Wednesday night and charged with unlawful possession of hydrocodone and violation of bail.

Bracy Ashby, 45, was arrested by Lt. Travis Willey and Deputy Brandon Parker. The possession charge is a Class C crime punishable by up to five years in jail and a $5,000 fine.

Sheriff Donnie Smith said his office and the Coast Guard often work jointly on coastal law enforcement issues. Smith also said Ashby was on bail for a previous drug trafficking arrest.

Ashby is being held without bail at the Washington County Jail.
