Bangor police plan bike auction May 21

BANGOR, Maine — The annual Bangor Police Department Bike Auction will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at the Parks and Recreation building, 647 Main St. in Bangor. Brewer garden club plans perennial sale June 4

BREWER, Maine — The Brewer Garden & Bird Club will hold its annual perennial plant sale at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at the Brewer Historical Society, 199 Wilson St. Healthy plants dug from members’ gardens will be for sale. Learn to Fly Day events May 21 in Old Town

OLD TOWN, Maine — The Penobscot Valley Chapter 827 of the Experimental Aircraft Association will hold an International Learn to Fly Day event from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at the Old Town Municipal Airport located at 100 Airport Road.

International Learn to Fly Day was created to invite people interested in the world of flight to discover more by meeting local aviators and discovering the initial steps toward “living the dream” of personal flight.

After the educational program, EAA Chapter 827 members will offer free orientation flights for adults at the main terminal building at Dewitt Field. For more information, visit

Introduction to Doula training offered

BANGOR, Maine — Doula 101, an introduction to training, will take place at 6 p.m. Monday, May 23, at the Bangor Public Library’s Lecture Hall. Legion post in Dixmont to hold craft-bake sale

DIXMONT, Maine — The Richard W. Simpson Post 201 of the American Legion in Dixmont will hold its annual craft fair and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at the American Legion Lot at the Junction of Routes 143 and 9/202.
