Bangor man charged after kicking in door

By Dawn Gagnon, BDN Staff

BANGOR, Maine — A Bangor man was charged with criminal mischief early Monday morning after he allegedly turned up at an Ohio Street residence and kicked in the door of a resident after an argument about money.

The incident that led to the charge occurred shortly after 4 a.m., when police were called to the residence to investigate a threatening report, Bangor police Lt. Jeff Millard said, citing a police report.

The police report indicated that Miguel Garcia, 36, went to the residence to collect money he said was owed him. Garcia reportedly demanded that the resident come outside and when the resident refused, Garcia allegedly kicked the door, causing damage, Millard said.

Garcia was just leaving in his car when police officers arrived, Millard said.
