30 Years of Windover

Windover Art Center will celebrate 30 years of art with an open house 1-4 p.m. Sunday, May 15, at 3001 Kennebec Road, Newburgh. Tour the Birch Tree Theater, the Art Barn, the Pottery Studio and the Thomas Abercrombie Darkroom. There will be refreshments, activities, a 4 p.m. cookout and reunion. Bring a dish and a beverage. “If you are a Windover alumni, bring something you made from the past,” said director Mari Abercrombie. “We have 30 years of black-and-white negatives to share and old videos dating back to the ’80s.” Each day at Windover, children ages 7 and older choose their own activities, from the categories of clay arts, photography, nature, music, cultural ways, writing, beading, filmmaking, acting, drawing and painting. Long-term projects begin Mondays, and family and friends attend art shows Friday afternoons. For information, call 234-4503 or visit windoverartcenter.com.
