St. John Valley Tech Center to hold supper as fundraiser

FRENCHVILLE, Maine — The St. John Valley Tech Center spaghetti supper fundraiser for students who will compete in national skills USA competition will be held 4:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at Dr. Lesvesque Elementary School in Frenchville.

The proceeds will cover expenses for competing in the competition. The cost of the supper is $5. For more information or to RSVP, call 543-6606, ext. 17.

Jumpstart Our Youth award ceremony at Gardiner school

GARDINER, Maine — Students in the Jobs for Maine’s Graduates programs at Gardiner Area High School and Hall Dale High School invite all to the JOY, Jumpstart Our Youth, award ceremony at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, in the ATM Room at Gardiner Area High School.

The goal of the Jumpstart Our Youth program is to teach students about the critical roles that nonprofits play in meeting overwhelming community needs, driving home the fact that community service includes hands-on work as well as thoughtful grant making and stewardship.
