Chamber membership is an investment in the midcoast’s economy, the local community and your business. As with any investment, dividends are proportional to the size of your contributions, be they work, money or time.
This is the second part of a three-part series with a list of tips from members who use chamber membership to help increase business.
LEARN at educational workshops: Throughout the year, the chamber hosts or sponsors workshops and seminars. Some are free, some have a nominal fee to cover costs. Topics include doing business with the government, understanding human resource law, utilizing social networking, tips for entrepreneurs and more.
MARKET yourself through the chamber: At no cost, you can let us know what’s happening in your business and we’ll announce it in the Monday Report email sent to more than 1,000 members and “opt-in” email addresses or in our bi-monthly newsletter, which goes to the same list and is available online. To receive these notices, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
For a low-cost investment, you can enhance your free chamber listings in the Maine Discovery Coast Magazine — 70,000 printed copies and available online — or at TheRealMaine.com. During a typical summer week in August 2010, there were nearly 20,000 page views and nearly 9,000 sessions that averaged approximately 10 minutes each.
Sponsor events and your name will be listed on banners, in the Monday Report and chamber newsletter, and be included in ads and press releases.
