CAMDEN — The Camden Hills Regional High School Visual and Performing Arts Department announced that Aurora Stromberg is the May Student of the Month.

Stromberg has been involved in the high school’s drama and music programs throughout high school. She has been a member of Chorale, Concert Band, Women’s Choir and Chamber Singers, Theater Performance Class and the high school’s after-school drama program.

She has been accepted to the MMEA District III Music Festival every year of her high school tenure. She has been an exemplary participant at all festivals, preparing her music in

advance and representing herself and her school admirably while at the festival, school officials said.

Stromberg has played both lead and supporting roles in the school’s annual musical, One-Act

Festival and in the spring plays. In addition to roles on stage, she has helped with behind-the-scenes aspects of shows, such as creating costumes for the recent one-act production of “Dust in Your Eyes.”

Stromberg’s musical roles include Lady Larkin in this year’s “Once Upon a Mattress,” and Queenie, the domesticated cat in “Honk!” She also played a stuffy aristocrat in “Tom Jones”  and a drunken mother in the recent murder mystery “I’m Getting Murdered in the Morning.”

In addition to her participation in school activities, Stromberg has helped raise money for local charities through performances with the ensemble The Cause. She has been a member of Wind Planners, the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and the National Honor Society.
