By Ardeana Hamlin, BDN Staff

BELFAST, Maine — The Belfast Maskers will present “Art” at 7 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays, May 12-22, at the Belfast Maskers Waterfront Theater, 43 Front St.

Serge will be played by Maskers staple Erik Perkins; Marc will be  performed by Jason Bannister, teacher and drama director at Troy Howard Middle School; Yvann will be played by Jim Tatgenhorst, new to Belfast Maskers but a familiar face on Winterport Open Stage and other area theaters.

“Art” marks the return of Tobin Malone to Belfast Maskers as director. Malone, whose directing experience is extensive and varied, served as Belfast Maskers artistic director from 2000 to 2003. Malone helped design the “black box” style amphitheater layout of Belfast Maskers Waterfront Theater in which “Art” will be presented.

The show contains adult language that is not suitable for children.

“Art” opens at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 12, with a special Preview Night performance ticket price of $8. The cost of admission will be $15, $10 teens. Tickets are available at the theater box office one hour before showtimes, by calling the box office at 338-9668, or at Yo Mamma’s Home, 96 Main St. More information about this and other events can be found at
