Chief Worumbo Androscoggin River Race for the whole family

LISBON, Maine — Registration for the 13th annual Chief Worumbo Androscoggin River Race begins at 9 a.m. and the river event will start at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 10, at the Durham Boat Access on Route 136 and race 6 miles downstream to the finish line under the railroad trestle where the Sabattus River meets the Androscoggin at Route 196 in Lisbon.

The Chief Worumbo Androscoggin River Race’s relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere has made it among the most popular paddling events in the Northeast, drawing hundreds of boats and participants from across New England.

Registration is $20 for adults, $15 for children 12 and under if registered by end of business Tuesday, July 5. Registration includes T-shirt, lunch and free shuttle service. Late and race-day registration is $25 for adults, $15 for children 12 and under and includes shuttle service only.

Mainebiz event free for Down East business community

MACHIAS, Maine — On the Road with Mainebiz series will host the Machias-Down East business community from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at the University of Maine at Machias. The free event is to encourage business leaders from Machias and surrounding areas to help businesses network and exchange ideas.
