EAGLE LAKE, Maine – State Police are seeking the public’s help to find an Eagle Lake man who was last seen at a residential care facility early Tuesday afternoon.
State Police Sgt. Tom Pelletier said late Tuesday evening that William Debaise, 41, left the Franciscan Home, a residential care facility on Route 11 in the community, at around 1:30 p.m.
He was last seen on Old Main Street in Eagle Lake at around 2:45 p.m.
Pelletier said that Debaise is mentally disabled and is a ward of the state. The sergeant said that police are not sure where Debaise might have been headed, but there is some evidence to believe that he might be attempting to get to the Portland area.
Debaise stands 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds, according to police. He has a gray beard and short dark brown hair. He was last seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and brown boots.
He may be carrying a dark colored duffel bag.
Anyone who may have seen Debaise or know of his whereabouts is asked to contact the Maine State Police in Houlton at 1-800-924-2261 or 207-532-5400.
