Maine Farmland Trust offers landowner workshop

DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine — The Maine Farmland Trust, a statewide nonprofit working to protect and preserve farmland, will hold a landowner workshop at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at Foxcroft Academy, 975 W. Main St. in Dover-Foxcroft.

This workshop is intended to teach owners of Maine farmland how they can advance the future of farming in Maine, by placing an agricultural conservation easement on their property.

Maine Poets Society to meet in Augusta on May 21

AUGUSTA, Maine — The Maine Poets Society will meet at 9:30 a.m. (registration) Saturday, May 21, in the Randall Student Tech Center, Room 218, at UMA Augusta. Registration fee is $12 which includes morning coffee and lunch. Nonmembers are welcome and may stay to participate in a reading-in-the-round at about 3 p.m.

Parks department has lifeguard, supervisor job openings

AUGUSTA, Maine — The Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands need to fill 13 lifeguard and 4 lifeguard supervisor positions for certified applicants at a number  of waterfront state parks around Maine.
