Commencement exercises scheduled May 21-22


Several commencement exercises are scheduled this weekend across the state. Among them:

Eastern Maine Community College commencement exercises will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at Bangor Auditorium. The keynote address will be presented by Shauna Strattonmeier, EMCC 2011 Student of the Year.

Husson University’s Portland campus will hold commencement exercises at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at Woodfords Corner Congregational Church in Portland. Rep. Marc Dion, D-Portland, and former Cumberland County sheriff, will be the commencement speaker.

Graduation ceremonies for Kennebec Valley Community College in Fairfield will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at the Augusta Civic Center. John Dalton, president and CEO of Inland Hospital, will give the commencement speech.


David Brock Hornby, U.S. District Court judge for the district of Maine, will be keynote speaker at the University of Maine School of Law commencement, scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, May 21, in Merrill Auditorium, Portland.

Southern Maine Community College of South Portland will begin commencement exercises at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland. College President Dr. James Ortiz will be the keynote speaker.
