MILLINOCKET, Maine — Jedediah Petsinger, principal of Stearns High School in Millinocket, has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2011.
Chad McKoy, son of Donna Cutliffe and Courtney McKoy, has been named valedictorian of his class. He plans to attend the University of Maine in Orono, majoring in mathematics.
During high school McKoy participated in the Student Council, show choir, One Act, jazz band, peer counselors, fall musical, peer mentor, math team, golf, track and field, and tennis. His awards include National Honor Society and master of ceremonies (12), honor roll, outstanding French student of the year, Elks Most Valuable Student (12), and outstanding contribution to the math team (Top Scorers 9-12).
Amanda Kranich, daughter of Douglas and Debbie Kranich, has been named salutatorian for her class. She plans to attend the University of Maine at Augusta, majoring in liberal studies with a focus toward physical therapy.
During high school Kranich participated in field hockey, basketball, softball, math team, track, jazz band, student council and was class president. Her awards include National Honor Society, Maine Girls State delegate, Phi Beta Kappa Award, academic excellence awards in most subjects, all-academic award in basketball, student of the month, and varsity letter in field hockey, basketball, softball and track.
Brian Bouchard, son of Peggy Bouchard and the late Ronald Bouchard, is third in his class and will attend the University of Maine in Orono, majoring in chemical engineering.
Alyssa Beaulieu, daughter of Reggie and Gina Beaulieu, is fourth in her class and will attend Saint Joseph’s College of Maine, majoring in nursing.
Brandon McLaughlin, son of John and Tammy McLaughlin, is fifth in his class and will attend the University of Maine in Orono, majoring in biology-pre-med.
