BLUE HILL — An apple tree planting workshop with Leslie Cummins and Tim Seabrook of Five Star Nursery 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 14, at Jonathan Fisher House, in conjunction with the second round of plantings in re-creating Fisher’s historic orchard with the same heirloom varieties he had planted or grafted himself. Topics of subsequent workshops could include pruning, maintaining an organic orchard, weed and insect control, grafting, saving varieties of old trees, judging when fruit is ripe, root cellaring. PARIS — Thirty-third annual Founder’s Day Classic Car Exhibit, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, July 16, on Paris Hill Green, rain or shine, to support Hamlin Library and Museum in Paris. Showpiece of the charity event is the Bahre Collection of antique and classic cars. Founder’s Day festivities include music, entertainment and a crafts fair. Adults $10, children 12 and under $2.
