Sponsors, participants sought for Bowl For Kids’ Sake
BANGOR — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Midcoast Maine is looking for businesses, organizations and individuals in Penobscot County to support and participate in its annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake event. It will take place at Bangor-Brewer Bowling Center in Brewer (May 10, 13, 15); and Family Fun Lanes in Bangor (May 11, 14, 18).
The event will raise funds to support Big & Little matches in Penobscot County. The goal is to have more than 100 teams and 400-plus bowlers participate. The Bowl For Kids’ Sake event is the agency’s largest fundraiser of the year, generating approximately 35 percent of the agency’s operating costs. For more information, call 745-1287.

Brewer rec to offer Ladies Appreciation Night
BREWER — The Brewer Parks and Recreation Department will host its eighth annual Ladies Appreciation Night from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at the Brewer Auditorium. The event offers ladies an evening of health and beauty pampering of their choice. Preregistration is required with a $10 charge for residents and $15 for nonresidents. Reproductive rights rally slated in Bangor
