BANGOR — In a tuneup for further postseason play, Husson University’s softball team split a Tuesday doubleheader with Bates College of Lewiston, dropping the first game 7-2 and winning the second 2-1.
In the second game, Aimee Mortensen’s RBI single to right in the third inning drove home the winning run for Husson.
Lona Sargent hit a double for the Eagles.
Karen Ullmann singled twice for the Bobcats.
In the first game, Leah Maciejewski had three singles and two RBIs to pace Bates. Monica Berube had a triple, a double, and an RBI for the Bobcats. Anna Marie Martino added a double, a single and two RBIs.
Mortensen paced Husson with two singles and an RBI.

At Gorham, the University of Southern Maine Huskies pounded out 20 hits as they oustlugged Bowdoin College here Tuesday.
Josh Mackey went 5-for-5 with five singles to lead the way and Forrest Chadwick had a solo homer, a triple, a single, and three RBIs to pace the 19-15 Huskies. Six players had two hits, and four of them had three or more.
For the 20-11 Polar Bears, Justin Lefeber had a double, two singles, three RBIs and a stolen base. Kyle LeBlanc had two doubles, a single, and an RBI.
