Feed ME Food Drive

BANGOR — On Saturday, May 7, Hannaford Supermarkets, WLBZ-TV and WCSH-TV will sponsor the sixth annual Feed ME Food Drive benefiting the largest hunger relief organization in Maine, Good Shepherd Food-Bank and its more than 550 member agencies.

WCSH 6 and WLBZ 2 on-air personalities will broadcast live throughout the morning from Hannaford Supermarket at the Airport Mall in Bangor. Food donations can be brought to there on May 7 only. Cash donations will be accepted at all Hannaford Supermarkets through May 31.

The most-needed foods are canned vegetables and fruit, canned meat and tuna, cereal, pasta, rice, peanut butter, juice and beverages.

Because children who qualify for free or reduced-fee lunch have less access to nutritious breakfast and lunch meals in the summer months, summer is considered the hardest time of year for food-insecure families.
