CAMDEN — The Lasansky School of Dance together with the Dance Theater Ensemble will cap its season with a 90-minute performance celebrating its 30th anniversary at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at the Camden Opera House.

Nearly 60 dancers, ranging in age from 4 to 18, will perform 19 dance selections to music as diverse as a Jean-Joseph Mouret Symphony to compositions by Alberto Ginastera, George Crumb, Jan Garbarek and Mercedes Sosa. Students will premiere 11 dances and perform several favorite selections from the Lasansky Dance Theater Ensemble repertoire, including several solos, a duet, a trio and a quartet.

The dancers have assisted with the choreography, at times searching for ideas and themes, music, steps, gestures, shapes, patterns and finally costumes and titles for their pieces.

Students from the Lasansky studio come from Appleton, Belfast, Bristol, Brooks, Camden, Glen Cove, Hope, Islesboro, Liberty, Lincolnville, Northport, Rockland, Rockport, Searsmont, Thomaston, Union and Warren.

Tickets are $14, $8 children 12 and under, available at HAVII in Camden and at the door on the night of the performance. For information call Jimena Lasansky at 236-3685, email, or visit
