Bangor man arrested for not complying with sex offender registry

BANGOR, Maine — A Bangor man was arrested last Wednesday on a charge of failure to register or update his address with the state sex offender registry.

Keith Appleton, 33, whose address was listed as the Hope House, was arrested by Bangor police Officer Eric Tall shortly before 4 p.m. at 17 Mitchell St., Sgt. Paul Edwards said Monday.

After his arrest, Appleton was taken to Penobscot County Jail, Edwards said. Appleton since has been released on bail, a jail official confirmed.
