FRYEBURG, Maine — Law enforcement officials have found a missing man whose house was destroyed by a fire in Fryeburg.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office says 58-year-old Dana Hatch was located in woods near his home Friday afternoon, hours after the house burned.

Fire marshals feared Hatch was inside the house when it burned because his truck was parked outside. Stephen McCausland of the Maine Public Safety Department said most of the two-story house collapsed into the basement, requiring an excavator to remove rubble to search for the homeowner.

McCausland said Hatch suffered minor injuries unrelated to the fire, and that he’ll be questioned by investigators.
