DEXTER — Film “Meet Your Farmer” 7 p.m. Friday, May 6, downstairs at the Dexter Town Hall. The film is about eight Maine farmers, how they work, grow and evolve as Maine does the same. Erica Buswell from the Maine Farmland

Marsh Road at the blinking yellow light, next to the fire station. Proceed to Beech Hill Road (less than .25 mile on your left). In approximately 1.5 miles greenhouses and fencing will alert you to the farm. A sign is posted in front of the farm stand.

ROCKLAND — Apprenticeshop demonstration of the techniques used in lapstrake or clinker style planking, 7 p.m. Thursday, May 12, in boat building shop, 643 Main St. A tour of the apprentices’ (those enrolled in the two-year boatbuilding course) projects will follow. Current projects include an 18-foot Buzzard’s Bay sloop, the Apprentice 15 (a double-ended, lapstrake sloop designed in house), a 14-foot Skylark, two Susan skiffs, two Paul Gartside clinker prams and a 10-foot Abeking and Rasmussen tender.
