Camden Farmers Market to open May 7


CAMDEN, Maine — The Camden Farmers Market will open for the 37th season from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday morning, starting May 7, behind the Knox Mill in the upper parking lot. Woodlawn Museum spring cleanup May 7

ELLSWORTH, Maine — The Woodlawn Museum spring cleanup day from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 7, on Route 172, Surry Road in Ellsworth. Woodlawn will provide a picnic lunch for all volunteers. For more information, call 667-8671.

Red carpet fundraiser for women only in Calais

CALAIS, Maine — The Calais Lioness Club will host a Glamour “Gal”a, red-carpet event (for women only) to benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life at 6 p.m. Friday, May 5, at the Calais Motor Inn.

Admission for this girls’ night out is $5, which includes one door prize ticket with additional tickets available for purchase.

Everyone will make a red carpet entrance, with a photographer on hand to record it, and entertainment will be provided to keep the party hopping.

Fiddlers show and contradance May 7 in Northport

NORTHPORT, Maine  — The Maine Master Fiddlers’ Showcase and Contradance will begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at the Blue Goose on Route 1.

The event will feature the Belfast Bay Fiddlers at 6:30 p.m., the Maine Master Fiddlers at 7 p.m. and the contradance at 8:30 p.m. Fiddler Frank Farrell of Bath, who is known around New England, will perform, among a slate of other musicians.

Admission is $10 per person and $30 for a family of four or more. The funds raised will be used for scholarships to Maine Fiddle Camp.
