Men arrested in Orono indicted on drug charges

BANGOR, Maine — Two men arrested last month in Orono on drug charges have been indicted by the Penobscot County grand jury.

Lance Bradford, 24, and Matthew J. Lynch, 28, both of Orono, were indicted on a variety of drug charges for possessing and selling cocaine, oxycodone and Ecstasy out of Lynch’s Orchard Trails apartment.

Bradford was indicted on two counts of unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs, two counts of unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, two counts of unlawful furnishing of scheduled drugs and criminal forfeiture.

Lynch, who has a previous conviction for drug trafficking, was indicted on two counts of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, two counts of unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, four counts unlawful furnishing of scheduled drugs and criminal forfeiture.

They were arrested on March 29 after Orono police raided the apartment where Lynch and Bradford were living. In addition to the drugs, police seized an undisclosed amount of cash, which would be forfeited to the state if the two were convicted.

Both are scheduled to be arraigned May 9 at the Penobscot Judicial Center in Bangor.

Lynch remained Wednesday at the Penobscot County Jail. Bradford has been released on bail, according to jail personnel.

If convicted, Lynch faces up to 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000 on the most serious charge of aggravated trafficking. Bradford faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $20,000 on the most serious charge of drug trafficking.
