BANGOR, Maine — A Greenbush man accused of posting child pornography on as many as 15 Facebook accounts he created was indicted Wednesday by the Penobscot County grand jury.

John Wilson, 23, was indicted on two charges of possession of sexually explicit material.

Wilson is scheduled to be arraigned on May 12 at the Penobscot Judicial Center.

He remains free on bail.

Wilson was arrested on Feb. 17 after the Maine State Police raided the Middle River Road home in Greenbush he shares with his parents and seized his computers and cell phones, Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said in February.

The investigation into Wilson’s activities was launched after Facebook personnel and members of the public complained to authorities.

“Facebook has been dealing with him on and off,” McCausland said when Wilson was arrested. “Facebook would find a site and take the site down, and he would go ahead and set up a new one.”

Wilson, who has no criminal record, faces up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000 if convicted.
