BANGOR — Helping Your Pet Age Gracefully, as part of Friends of Kindred Spirits’ Chat with the Vet series, 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 30, at Sea Dog Brewing Co. on the Bangor Waterfront. Free. Donations will be accepted to aid Friends of Kindred Spirits’ work. For information, go to www.friendsofks.org.

ROCKLAND — Transportation being offered to adults ages 50 and older who need it to attend “Your Life, Your Choices: Practical Guidance for End-of-Life Plannning” to be held 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday, April 29, at Salvation Army. Rides are offered by Penobscot Bay YMCA and All Aboard Trolley to residents in Rockport, Thomaston and Union. Free admission will include a light breakfast and lunch. OLD TOWN — Annual 5K Pet Run/Walk to benefit the Animal Orphanage, 10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 1, rain or shine. Start and finish line is at the Old Town YMCA on Stillwater Avenue. Pets are welcome but optional, and if animals are present, they must be leashed and start at the back of the line unless the entrant is racing. Registration begins at 9a.m. Fee is $12 for individual walkers and runners and $8 for a family of walkers. Call 299-7324 or 827-8777 for a registration form.

ROCKLAND — Maine Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s special kickoff event for the Sept. 24 walk will be held 4-6 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at Amalfi on the Water, Ocean Street.
