PARKMAN, Maine — Firefighters from Guilford left their station just after noon Friday to fight a grass fire in neighboring Parkman that was threatening a home, said longtime firefighter Bob Littlefield, who answered the station’s phone.
“It was heading toward a building, but they got there in time,” he said. “They’re already on their way back.”
The Smart Hill Road homeowner was burning the grass when the fire got out of control.
Guilford firefighters signed off at the scene at around 12:40 p.m., Littlefield said.
