BELFAST, Maine — Police said Thursday that they are continuing to investigate a knife attack that put a local man in the hospital Wednesday night.
Whitney Anderson, 38, was charged with aggravated assault after allegedly stabbing her live-in boyfriend in the chest and hand at a home on Penobscot Terrace.
Tracy Roadarmel, 44, suffered a stab wound to the left side of his chest and also what police described as defensive wounds to his right hand. He initially was taken to Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast but later was transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for treatment.
An EMMC official said Thursday that Roadarmel had been discharged.
“It appeared straightforward, but there was a lot that led up to it,” Detective Bryan Cunningham of the Belfast Police Department said Thursday. “We’re putting it all together.”
He said no further charges are being filed “at this time.”
An official at Waldo County Jail said Anderson had been transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset. Her bail is set at $2,500 cash or $25,000 surety.
Sgt. Walter Corey is the lead investigator, Cunningham said.
