USM baseball tops St. Joseph’s in 12th

GORHAM — With the bases loaded and one out in bottom of the 12th inning, David Ricker singled to right-center field, driving home Chris Bernard to lead the University of Southern Maine to a 6-5 baseball victory over Saint Joseph’s College of Standish.

Ricker singled three times for the Huskies. Tucker White had a single and two RBIs, Roberto Valenti scored two runs, Josh Mackey doubled with an RBI and Anthony Pisani hit two singles and scored a run.

Todd Keneborus paced the Monks with a solo home run in the first and an RBI double in the third. Sam Butts tallied two singles and two runs, Mike Pratt doubled twice while Chris Campbell and Dan Achorn both hit two singles.
