Junior Ranger Day set April 30 at Acadia National Park

BAR HARBOR —  The 5th annual National Junior Ranger Day at Acadia National Park will take place from 1 to 4 p.m.  Saturday, April 30, from 1 to 4 p.m., on Mount Desert Island at the Sieur de Monts Spring area or at Schoodic  Education and Research Center campus south of  Winter Harbor.  Children 12 and under and their families are invited to explore Acadia’s nature and history. ROCKPORT — Free oral cancer screenings are being offered from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 22, at MidCoast Family Dentistry in Rockport. No appointment necessary and you don’t need to be a patient. For more information, call 236-3100.

EAST MACHIAS — The Washington Academy Senior Class Mega-Yard Sale will be held from 8 to 11:30 a.m.Saturday, April 30, in the Alumni Gym.  Anyone wishing to donate items to the yard sale may drop them off at Washington Academy.  The yard sale proceeds benefit the W.A. Project Graduation activities to increase awareness of the dangers of drinking, drugging and driving and to reduce the number of youth involved in alcohol and other drug-related highway crashes. UNION — The Vose Library in Union is currently seeking plants and garden-related items for its annual plant sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 4, on Union Common. Proceeds from the sale support the yearly operating budget of the library. We are available to help dig and repot if needed. Potting now will allow the plants to look their best by June.
