BATON ROUGE, La. — The editor of Louisiana State University’s literary quarterly, The Southern Review, has died in a traffic accident.

Authorities said Jeanne Leiby was killed Tuesday while driving on Interstate 10 in Iberville Parish west of Baton Rouge. State police said the 46-year-old Leiby was westbound when she tried to change lanes, lost control of the car and hit a guardrail.

Leiby was named editor of The Southern Review in 2008 after serving as editor of The Florida Review at the University of Central Florida. She also had been fiction editor of The Black Warrior Review while a graduate student at the University of Alabama, LSU said.
